The oil cooled motorised range of Dimmer Dot variacs is designed for heavy industrial applications requiring high continuous current ratings. By immersing the toroidal windings in transformer oil, the current carrying capacity is increased by approximately 70% compared to the equivalent air cooled model.
All oil cooled models are three phase with motorised control for remote operation. Current ratings range from 40A to 800A continuous, with oil capacities from 115 litres to 2,000 litres. Units are built for demanding factory environments with heavy-duty steel tank construction.
